A shower diverter valve allows you to divert water to two different outlets, so for example, you can have a standard fixed shower head and a hand-held shower handset on the same shower. Simply plumb a diverter valve into your shower valve outlet pipe, and you have an outlet for both your shower head and your hose. Use the diverter valve to switch back and forth between the two. Works exceptionally well with a slide rail shower.
